Open Season
This is a nastly little thriller barely released in 1974 by Columbia Pictures and still not available on DVD or even VHS. Basically, it''s about a couple on a weekend getaway who are kidnapped by a trio of creepy suburban jock hunters played to sleazy perfection by John Phillip Law, Richard Lynch and Peter Fonda. They enslave the couple in their cabin and gang-rape the woman while her husband succumbs to anger and humiliation. The trio then release the couple into the wild and hunt them down like game. With a surprise ending that comes a mile away, OPEN SEASON is an example of unpleasant 70's shock cinema that nonetheless is uncompromising in its depiction of raw brutality. Oh, and William Holden is only in the film for a few minutes but his role is pivotal. The film is available on a weak widescreen bootleg, so seek it out if you dare.
