George W. Bush is a crook.

A thief of democracy and the constitution. Under the tutelege of a CIA trained father and enabler of proto-imperialism (read the newly declassified CIA files for those conspiracy theories that turned out to be fact), he has turned his incurious spoiled arrogant blueblood son into another tool for dismantling national security and prosperity, spreading the military-industrial complex around the world to line the pockets of CEO politicos like Dick Cheney.

George W. Bush promised that those responsible for outing covert agent Valerie Plame would be held accountable. He has never had to publicly answer questions about the leak case, always hiding behind the "it's an ongoing investigation" stonewall.

Scooter Libby was thus found guilty of OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE, not leaking Plame's name, but OBSTRUCTING the federal investigation that the CIA requested and lying to a grand jury. The respected Republican prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald didn't take kindly to being lied to. The jury also found compelling evidence of Libby's untruths, although some did admit he was the obvious fall guy. Which is true.

So the investigation is over, Scooter Libby guilty, but no word from the President on the accountability of those closest to him. Instead the right wing cries for an unjustifiable pardon on the grounds, "There was no underlying crime" -- except that perjury is a crime (ask Bill Clinton).

But now George W. Bush decides he knows more than a judge, prosecutor and jury. He "commutes" Libby's sentence, not the same thing as a pardon, except they both mean Libby does not go to jail. But Paris Hilton does.

Impeach Dick Cheney. Let Bush remain perched on top of his precarious kingdom. Impeach Cheney and let Bush continue to use the constitution for ass-wipe. The actions of George Bush should taint the Republican party for decades. Maybe we can be spared their future crooked incompetence.
