But he clearly came out on top at last night's MSM sanctioned and filtered Republican Debate moderated by news-tool Anderson Cooper. At least it was feisty, with Mitt Romney and Gulliani going toe to toe on who's meaner to immigrants. Both men came off as unlikeable and petty. Ron Paul always gets the best lines when he's allowed to speak, but like Kucinich, he's a threat to the status quo.

In response to "What Would Jesus Do" about the death penalty, Huckabee had the line of the night. What's disturbing is his subtle boast that he's executed more people in Arkanas than any guvn'r -- like Bush, this should not be your trump card, especially from a hardcore minister like Huckabee. Of course, what's truly disturbing is that as gov, Huckabee pushed for the parole of Wayne Dumond, a rapist with a history, who was paroled...then raped and murdered again. Seven years is long enough for redemption after raping three or four women? That's the Right Wing ideology at work. And look what it brings.

I've thought Mike Huckabee the dark horse, and despite my scorn for his policies and fundamentalism, he was the most moderate speaker. And barring surprises, he'll get the nomination. Not to mention the silent Chuck Norris demographic.
