Quantum of Solace
Yes, that's the title for the next James Bond film.
And it's perfect.
Taken from one of Ian Fleming's most unusual 007 short stories, basically his riff on a Somerset Maugham drawing-room style drama, "Quantum of Solace" details Bond warily attending a wealthy soiree. He ends up sitting with a perceived bore, who tells Bond an intruiging story of relationship love and hate.
After the party, Bond realizes that seemingly mundane lives have more drama than his supposed exciting life as a secret agent.
Of course, that story will have nothing to do with the film. But the title does relate to Bond's loss of Vesper Lynd in CASINO ROYALE and the story starts an hour after CR ends. Bravo to Eon Productions for sticking to their guns in returning Bond to his novel roots. There's even more untapped drama to his character throughout the series.
